Is there a preferred major for a student who wants to apply to a health professional school?

Not at all. Health professional schools seek well qualified and diverse candidates, no matter what degree is earned. Choose a major that is within your strengths and what you are most interested in. The HPRC will help students take the correct prerequisite courses. Some majors require courses more aligned with what health professional programs also require, and this leads some students to choose one of those majors. But, depending on time and financial constraints, you can major in any area of interest. Click here for options to majors.
